Farewell morning tea for Father Pat

Fr Pat Crawford was ordained a priest in Christchurch in 1960.  He served in Parish Ministry for 50 years and spent a further 10 years in Youth and Prison Ministry.  Fr Pat commented “It’s been an interesting journey trying to apply Scripture and Church teaching to a changing world of science and technology”.

When Fr Pat was asked to celebrate Mass every Thursday at Mary Potter Community Centre he said he’d give it a trial, that was 3 years ago quite a long trial!  With sadness and gratitude Fr Pat was farewelled last Thursday after Mass with a special morning tea and gift.  The Mary Potter residents and those who attend our Thursday Mass miss Fr Pat’s gentle and wise presence.
