The Little Company of Mary supports a number of associates and affiliates to progress on their spiritual journey. It helps men and women to serve the sick and dying through a life of prayer, community and service.
Associates are part of the original inspiration of our Founder, Venerable Mary Potter. These people are men and women who feel drawn to the spirit of the Little Company of Mary and vision of Venerable Mary Potter. They are led through the Formation programme, making a commitment to deepen their own spiritual life and further the Mission of the Church.
After a time of Formation, they make their first commitment. During this period, they are accompanied by a designated sister companion or associate and meet regularly to share faith, prayer, LCM spirituality and the ministry. This commitment is renewed each year, while associates continue to live the lifestyles which they have been called to by God.
Affiliates are men and women who join with the sisters in their ministry of prayer for the dying, in union with Mary on Calvary. Their only obligation is to pray for the dying each day.
If you are interested in becoming a member of the Greater Company of Mary, or would just like to attend Mass at the Mary Potter Centre, you are most welcome. Masses are celebrated three times a year, please contact our office for details.
