So it should be with us, a total subduing and renunciation of self, that ‘God alone’ may be our motto, His Mother’s honour our password, the love of one another our daily practice.”
Even as she penned those words, Mary Potter would have acknowledged how difficult this is, to live our lives for God alone. The secret, I believe, is the second part of this sentence: to make love for one another our daily practice. By reaching out to others daily in love and support, we are more able to move away from our own self-focus, and become happier, more contented human beings.
